Throughout history, especially during times of war, musicians have been called upon night and day to play for the purpose of boosting morale.
The Pipers Stone was named in the 18th century (accounts varied on this, so we chose the most dramatic version) when a young piper, in the midst of a raging battle, climbed on top of a large stone to project the music to his men. Unfortunately, this made him a better target, and he sustained a gut shot. He continued playing until the life drained out of him and he fell dead from the stone.
We passed a private ballot amongst ourselves and unanimously voted to skip the fatal abdominal injury. We will, however, play until we drop. There is no greater experience than that of boosting the morale of every fan who comes to see us. Thank you.
We'll see you in the trenches. We'll be the ones standing on the big stone.
